Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB) is a design-and-construct specialist, harnessing the skills and expertise of contractor JN Bentley and global consulting giant Mott MacDonald.
A significant and growing proportion of JN Bentley’s work, particularly in the water sector, is delivered through MMB.
The MMB Approach
MMB was established in 1999. Since then the joint venture has gone from strength to strength, winning multiple client and industry awards for quality and innovation. By embracing all elements of programme management, investigation and construction in one organisation, MMB provides an integrated, efficient service to all its clients.
In 2014, Mott MacDonald acquired Bentley Holdings Ltd (including subsidiary company JN Bentley Ltd), a natural progression in the highly successful 15 year partnership between JN Bentley and Mott MacDonald through MMB.
MMB is purposefully set up to deliver long term programmes of work, with the appreciation that a strategic focus, effective communication and flexibility in different models of working are important to support a trusted relationship with our clients.
Collaboration is therefore central to the way MMB operates, with a constant exchange of ideas and information between all members of the team throughout any project. This close level of integration, not only between our design, contract management and site teams, but also with our client partners, subcontractors and other contract partners, is core to MMB’s success.
“The MMB approach has positively influenced the working practices of both parent companies; for example the implementation of integrated risk management processes and logs at Mott MacDonald, and for JN Bentley a focus on Health & Safety through design.”
Engineering Director, JN Bentley
Great people are without doubt the heart of MMB. The fully-integrated nature of the business means we can supply the teams that enable MMB to provide an end-to-end service to its clients.
Flat management structures and core team working bring together MMB framework teams with a focus on the bigger picture. Skills development, efficiency and innovation are encouraged in this way with all team members feeling joint ownership for the programme from start to finish.
A strong commitment to induction and training, as well as regularly sharing good news and best practice through team and inter-team briefings, cements the MMB ‘one team’ culture.
