Wastewater Mains, Bishopthorpe, York

In November 2011, MMB began work to repair two defective wastewater rising mains that run through the centre of Bishopthorpe, York, a heavily populated residential area that had been subjected to both area and residential flooding.  The team has drawn widespread praise from client Yorkshire Water (YW) for their efforts in delivering the works with the utmost consideration for their local community, through their adopted working methods and effective temporary works – both planned with a view on minimising impact on the local community, whilst resolving ongoing operational issues.

John Fenwick, Duty Manager, Yorkshire Water commented on the work, “The level and standard of the communication regarding the ongoing issues at Bishopthorpe has been exemplary.”  And on receiving John’s comments, Yorkshire Water Customer Service Manager, Patrick Hargreaves noted what great feedback it was saying it was “almost unprecedented in all my time at Yorkshire Water.”
